HOMEWORK DUE BY MONDAY!
CHOOSE ONE (1) OF THE FOLLOWING SCRIPTS/TONGUE TWISTERS TO RECORD AND UPLOAD FOR HOMEWORK
(OVER enunciate in your rehearsals and be crisp and clear and project in the final recording. We want to hear the difference between P, T, and D, or the B, G, and K sounds. Speed is not a factor in this exercise!)
PTD SCRIPT: Peter Padderton was a peculiar little boy who loved molding models. Every night before bed, Peter got up to practice his molding dough. He loved making animal shapes, like porcupines, parrots, and pelicans.
One night, Peter teetered on a thought. He wanted to make something unique that was different from what he usually made, but it proved to be terribly tough. At the break of dawn, he got up, trotted over to his desk, and started jotting down his ideas on paper. He drew impressionable patterns and stupendous models but nothing he produced propitiated his creativity. Depressed, Peter started drawing animals again. He drew Dalmatians; he drew tadpoles; he drew tortoises; he drew peacocks and even people. Peter realized that he was having fun again as more and more ideas came flooding to his mind. Satisfied, he went to bed, dreaming about the things he drew.
The next morning, Peter began working on his pottery. He worked on all of the things he drew last night, including the people! He made Harry Potter, Peter Pettigrew, and Draco Malfoy completely out of stone!
In the end, Peter Padderton ended up sticking with what he had always made, but he no longer cared. He was happy doing what he loved and that was all that mattered.

I will also be including a tongue twister to do in your homework each week.
Here's a tongue twister to include in your homework.
Bipidy bumpidy ripidy rumpidy
Ripidy bumpidy boo
Bipidy bumpidy ripidy rumpidy
Let’s make it harder to do
Bumzidy rumzidy dumzely clumzely
Hopefully soon we’ll be through
With bipidy bumpidy ripidy rumpidy
Stop when your pink tongue turns blue
I'll also be including a short video each week to check out with actors behind the scenes; these are good for studying, paying attention to their mannerisms and facial expressions while they are performing, and thinking of what you can integrate into your own performance as an actor. Observing the mannerisms and facial expressions of experienced actors during their performances can provide insights and inspiration for aspiring voice actors. It's an effective way to learn the nuances of character portrayal and emotional expression. These videos will serve as real-life examples of how voice acting is done professionally, helping guys understand not just the vocal aspects but also the physicality and emotional depth that go into creating a character's voice. I want it to encourage actors to think holistically about their performances and consider how body language and facial expressions can enhance their voice work, which is something that will go into more detail for next week's class!
