Varying Takes Workshop is designed to help voice actors develop diverse performance options. Many new actors struggle with providing varied takes and often submit similar options, which can limit their opportunities. This workshop will teach you how to make each take unique by experimenting with different pitches, ages, comedic choices, or even accents. By offering varied takes, you showcase the full range of your talent to casting directors.

Guest instructor Shawn Gann will guide you through this process, helping you explore and experiment with different approaches to maximize your impact. Gann is a proud Filipino-American ADR Director, Voiceover Artist, and Educator at Crunchyroll. With an impressive voice acting resume that includes My Hero Academia, Dragon Ball Super, Attack on Titan, One Piece, and Ranking of Kings, Shawn has become a recognizable voice in anime and beyond. As an ADR Director, he’s led acclaimed titles such as Horimiya, Buddy Daddies, Kaiju No. 8, and The Apothecary Diaries. His talents extend into video games—most notably Borderlands 3 and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands—as well as film and theater. A dedicated performer and creator, Shawn’s theatrical career has taken him across national and international stages, including a stop at Scotland’s 2019 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
