About This Event

Across every genre of voice acting, casting and clients are listening for the same thing: truth. Whether you’re delivering a conversational commercial, voicing an animated character, a fighter in a video game, narrating or selling a brand as an announcer, authenticity is what makes a performance believable — and bookable. 

Authenticity in Everything You Do is a 4-week, performance-driven workshop designed to help voice actors bring genuine connection, clarity, and confidence to a wide range of VO genres, whether they are subtle and intimate or over the top and absurd, you can’t fake authenticity!

Tonight will be a a one off preview of what you can expect from the course, with the opportunity to ask questions. Please bring your most authentic self, and get ready to have a good time!

Deb Munro is an award winning veteran of the online world working from home for most of her career, with over 30 years experience as a Voice Actor/Casting/Director and 20 years as a coach.   

While Deb is best known for her roles as ‘Mai’ in the animated series “DragonBall and DragonBall GT”, ‘Carla Carumba’ in the series “Benjamin The Elephant”, “Pirates of the Caribbean” video game for Disney, “NeverWinters Night” with Bioware, ‘Bustiana’ in the Gundarr series, characters in the series “Marco Polo”, ‘Richard’ in BusyTownMysteries, “True Pulp Murder” narrator and so much more, Deb has her hands in many aspects of the industry.  

Currently the voice for “Makeful TV”, "Homeful TV", "LovePets", “ABC15”, ‘Granny’ in “Turbo Fantasy”, “StackApp”, “Planet Fitness”, “Wayfair”, “Scotiabank”, “Winners”, "Walmart", "Volkswagon", “Voice of Ring Central”, Imaging Voice for several radio stations, thousands of narrations, national commercials, talking technology, message on hold and more. 

Not only is Deb a highly respected and recognized talent, she likes to give back and has been able to do so by teaching voice acting/acting worldwide for the past 20 years.   A voice talent first, she brings in her own personal experience and uniquely honest approach that tells it like it is without sugar coating and false promises, helping thousands of talents succeed this craft quickly and successfully.

Hey gang!

I want to express my AUTHENTIC gratitude for joining us!  Authenticity is EVERYTHING agents are looking for and it's much deeper than you think.  I hope this wall small window shed some light on this topic and I also hope it's encouraged you to dig deeper and join me for my 4 week Authenticity workshop - so we can deep dive into how to bring more authenticity into every character you create - no matter what!

Just a quick review of what we covered:

  • Authenticity is defining your truth
      Understanding authenticity is the foundation of connecting with your audience. It's about being genuine, not perfect.
  • Natural vs. Authentic A common misconception in voice-over is confusing natural delivery with authentic performance. Understanding the difference is key to finding your real voice.  Natural = casual, Authentic = truthful. You can sound natural and still be fake.
  • Broadcast vs. Authentic - Broadcast is polished, projected energy... always "on!" Authentic is grounded, present, and human!
  • Cartoony vs. Real - Big energy doesn't mean fake. Truth still lives in animated characters. The emotion behind every line must be real, even when the delivery is larger than life.
  • How to be authentic then? Trust your instincts, let imperfections happen, think before you speak, and above all... make sure you're talking to someone!
  • Key takeaways? Authentic is not perfect, but it is connected! It's less "acting" and more BEING!
